Beijing Sport Universty professor Hu Xiaofei visited Oulu 17.-19.11.2023.
Oulu was the last place in his long tour in Russia, Germany, France and Belgium for more than a month. First he arrived in Helsinki for a couple of days, there was mostly resting and having some sightseeing. We visited the major tourist attractions of Helsinki, the harbour, main church, the Parliament house, new central Library – Oodi, Concert house and our National Art Museum – Ateneum, where all our important national identity art works are.
Those days were relaxed and nice free of schedules.
Thursday he arrived in Oulu and from Saturday to Sunday he taught us Zhu Ji Gong and Qian Long Emperor Longevity Exercise.
His visit to Oulu was very much anticipated and historical since it was the first time for him to teach in Oulu. There were local practitioners but also visitors from Helsinki, Vantaa and Denmark. Also there were a lot of international and Finnish participants Online.
Saturday we had dinner all together.
Over all all the arrangements, technically and otherwise went well and everybody was happy and enjoyed. It was remarkable and important to us to meet professor Hu face to face and to get to know him since we have already practised his routines many years, and to enjoy his joyful, humorous and relaxed way of teaching and personality!
On my and all behalf I cordially thank professor Hu for his excellent teaching! This was his first time in Oulu but there are already plans for his visit next year!
